This lovely work of art was produced by my cousin Brittany McMullin. Not only did it look incredible, but it tasted SO GOOD. Seriously.

Oh, by the way, she totally decorated it right before the reception like a pro. Just whipped it out. No big deal...

(she was free-handing the frosting from a picture off the internet! they should replace that picture we found with HER version, don'tcha think?)

I ordered my dress online (made in a chinese sweatshop??....) but had it spruced up by one of the most wonderful people on this earth. Jenny Adair worked her magic to make the dress everything I'd hoped for. Thanks for all you did for us, Mama J! Love you!

She even tried her first french bustle (for dancing, of course). It turned out perfectly!

Mallory Miller of Natural Perfections is the creator of the beautiful floral arrangements and decorations. Not only did she do an amazing job with the flowers, but she was such an great help with the entire set up process. She kept the reception place in line and allowed things to run smoothly. Mallory knows her stuff but she is also a wonderful friend. Thank you for everything you did for us Mal!

This Is What I Found...

I come home tomorrow. I feel like I just tried to drink out of a fire hydrant for four weeks and now I have to go into the drought hoping my gulps of information/motivation will carry me through and keep boosting me toward my goals.

Like last time, I'm coming back a new dancer. I have new purpose in what I do. It's rather exciting, really.

I'm excited to start another year with Theatre Ballet in two weeks! It will be a time of much growth and hard work. I can't wait.

The Struggle for Summer

THE STRUGGLE FOR SUMMER

I refuse to give up the last few weeks of summer vacation without a fight. To paraphrase Charlton Heston at a NRA meeting, "Fall is going to have to pry summer out of my cold, dead hands." But seriously...

This could have very well been the fastest summer of my life. It may have been caused by some of the radioactive fall-out as a consequence of getting married. You always hear old married couples vaguely refer to this phenomenon. They say stuff like that, "We got married and here we are 25 years later." Where is the middle to that story? Times goes faster for married people. In some marriages that is a tender mercy. Especially for those until death do ye part types.

Summer school is torturous but it makes summer fly by. Especially when your professor talks just like Vizzini from The Princess Bride. "Plato? Aristotle? Socrates? Morons." I go to class every MWF and just wait for him to scream out "The Cliffs of Insanity" or "Inconceivable."

Another reason behind the speedy summer could be all the time I spent at work. I go in at 2:30pm and I don't come out until 10pm. By this time the sun has already said peace out. There's a reason there are so many V's in Vivint. It turns you into a Vampire. But vampires are in this year. Right?
