Team WolfleyWedding: Deliciousness and Dancing

Magleby's cake and crepes? Yes. Italian soda bar? Oh yes. Delicious? Take a wild guess.

This is Jay Lawrence...
...and his awesome band.
They came to play at our reception. Boy, were they good. As you can see, they made the whole evening a perfectly delightful dance party:

Probably my favorite dance party. Ever.

Team WolfleyWedding: The Cake

This lovely work of art was produced by my cousin Brittany McMullin. Not only did it look incredible, but it tasted SO GOOD. Seriously.

Oh, by the way, she totally decorated it right before the reception like a pro. Just whipped it out. No big deal...

(she was free-handing the frosting from a picture off the internet! they should replace that picture we found with HER version, don'tcha think?)
Thank you Brittney!

Team WolfleyWedding: What We Wore

Something Old: great-grandmother's necklace
Something New: earrings
Something Borrowed: bracelets from mom and sister
Something Blue: ribbon on garter

Pete was lookin dashingly debonair in his suit from Men's Warehouse
(notice the cuff links, hot diggity!).

I ordered my dress online (made in a chinese sweatshop??....) but had it spruced up by one of the most wonderful people on this earth. Jenny Adair worked her magic to make the dress everything I'd hoped for. Thanks for all you did for us, Mama J! Love you!

She even tried her first french bustle (for dancing, of course). It turned out perfectly!

Team WolfleyWedding: The Flowers

Mallory Miller of Natural Perfections is the creator of the beautiful floral arrangements and decorations. Not only did she do an amazing job with the flowers, but she was such an great help with the entire set up process. She kept the reception place in line and allowed things to run smoothly. Mallory knows her stuff but she is also a wonderful friend. Thank you for everything you did for us Mal!

The Other Side

Alright boys and girls, we are back in business after a few wedding-filled weeks! We have officially crossed over to the other side. The MARRIED side.

There will be more wedding posts to come, once we get our fabulous pictures back from the fabulous Lizzy Bean of Elizabeth Helen Photography. (seriously, she is awesome. check out her stuff here.)

Suffice it to say that we are completely overwhelmed with the love, support, and generosity continuously given throughout the entire process. What amazing people we have in our lives.

Cannot Compute Question

The wedding is close. 39 days, to be exact. Everyone always asks me how wedding plans are coming along. I'm not really sure how to answer that....

"We are working on it."
"Pending."
"Still in progress."
"Not done yet."

How much detail do they want? Do they really care that we are compiling the guest list as we speak, or that we just decided on what flowers to use and what the cake flavors are? Or are they just asking to fill in the awkward silence/conversation gaps?

I have to gage the answer based on the situation: who is asking me, how much time we have to chat, and the way they asked the question. Usually I go with a safe, vague, "The plans are coming along nicely."

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate everyone who cares enough or even remembers to ask about it. I am surrounded by people who love and support me in a humbling way. I just find it amusing that I have such a hard time answering that silly question.

In case you were wondering, things really are falling into place perfectly. All thanks to my detail-oriented mother, supportive father, advising sister, and perfect fiance'. I am a lucky woman.

I Can't Believe I'm Doing This...

...and by "this" I mean posting about the wedding. THE wedding.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for the royal lovebirds. I really am. I'm just a bit wedding-ed out myself. They are adorable together, and I have a lot of respect for Kate, but I have been bombarded by royal wedding obsession.

Maybe it's because I'm wrapped up in my own wedding planning and the details involved that I really didn't care that Kate went shopping and bought three new dresses and "WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR THEIR HONEYMOON??!"

I really was not interested in what Camilla thought of her tiara or who was going to be invited to the festivities or what the cake will look like or how to capture JUST the right photo of a royal. It just seems like a lot of silly things to worry about.

Perhaps if I was not planning a wedding of my own, I would be a little more into their wedding. I just could not bring myself to watch it this morning (because I was unconscious in my bed). The only thing I wanted to see was her dress. So I woke up, cooked some breakfast, and googled her dress:
It really is beautiful and she looks stunning. (kind reminds you of someone else's dress, eh? Kate, dahling, you have impeccable taste.)

Don't judge me, but that's about the extent of my royal wedding celebration. Cheers.

Engagements SNEAK PEEK

Whenever I hear "sneak peek," I feel like a freaking Kate and William groupie....

Although we are not a royal couple, I love us just the same. We were lovin the blooming spring blossoms so we took advantage by taking some engagement pictures! My lovely friend Lizzy is our wedding photographer. She is delightful and so fun to work with. Did I mention she is totally talented?

Check out her blog here to preview the pics. Don't forget to take a peek at her other work too! She pretty much does everything. Like I said, totally talented. Let me know your favorites! (we have to narrow it down to one for the invitation...)
